Well I think I’ve made it clear that I like Simon Cowell a fair bit.  Not in a gay way, mind.  And you do never know with a guy like that.  Anyway, Cowell is at the end of his contract for American Idol, the most watched TV show in the world. and his current salary of $36 million may take a big leap to between $100 and $144 million.  Why $144m?  I have no idea.  Cowell doesn’t need to explain his actions.  Aren’t you hot in all those black T-shirts and trousers Simon?  No answer.  He’s his own man.  Read more after the jump.

So, just to clarify, Simon Cowell could earn up to $144 million for one season of talking slightly trashy to a bunch of misguided youngsters.  Bloody brilliant.  He’s a genius.  And he’s not asking for this, he’s being offered.  American Idol makes an epic $900 million a season, so they can afford it, I guess.
