Getting my thumbs up for promoting the very agreeable activity of tea drinking, and the potential to indulge my habit of doing embarrassing impressions of Japanese people, Hitoma allows one to plonk a massive tea/meditation room in your house. Read more after the jump.

Developed by the Gobo Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and retailing for $18,000 it’s marginally more expensive than a return trip to Japan, but you don’t need to worry about Triads or ladyboys (ok, ok, that’s Thailand). Built from Kishu timber, a high-quality cedar from the city of Gobo known for its extraordinary grain patterns and long life-span, Hitomi certainly looks the part.
It’s available from the Japan Brand Pop Up Shop, who are currently at NYC’s Felissimo through 30 May.
