BA have reported a pre-tax loss of £401m for the year to 31 March, after seeing its results hit by a “weak pound and higher fuel costs”. And the fact that they are arrogant and crap.  More after the jump.

Sorry – bit grouchy again.  Watching Ben get fired on the UK Apprentice.  WTF is wrong with you Sr’Alan, didn’t you hear he got a scholarship to Sandhurst?!

Anyway, it’s hardly rocket science to imagine that weaker businesses will suffer most out of the recession.  BA are crap with luggage, lateness, launching disastrous Heathrow terminals and yet hold such a sense of entitlement to your business because the word “British” is in the name and there’s some heritage guilt trip going on.  People should have learnt by now that “British” in a company’s name usually denotes utter ineptitude.  Do you know the other reason you’re screwed BA?  Nobody flies with you anymore.

However, BA said that this year it had seen a “significantly better” operational performance, and that it had received record customer satisfaction ratings.  Significantly better than “shit” is no great achievement.  Nonetheless, it’s reported that the total number of passengers carried fell 4.3% to 33.1m. Apparently its looking for a merger with American Airlines or Iberia.  Yea that’s a deal and a half.  It’s like a crack addict asking for a fiver and swearing he’ll pay it back.  Are you going to see a return on that?  Best avoided, just say you no speaky engrish and do one of those wacky Chinese impressions.
