Wowsers. £10,000. Just before I launch into this, if I bought a whisky that was 50 years old for an extortionate sum, I would carbon date the living hell out of it. If it was even a day younger than promised, I’d hunt those bastards down. So William Grant & Sons Distillers Ltd are releasing 500 bottles of a 50 year old Glenfiddich for £10,000 ($16,000) a piece. So what do you get for your money? Read more after the jump.

You get 1 of 500 individually numbered, hand-blown glass bottles (I hope they popped a tic tac beforehand) with decoration in Scottish silver. The bottles will be packaged in leather-bound cases, each accompanied by a book and a signed certificate.
It’ll be distributed in 50-bottle lots over 10 years, and these rare bottles will first appear at airports. Frigging airports! So you’re going to have to jet off to bloody Dubai or something just to have a sniff of this. I think I’ll just stick to the £20 quid high street version, cheesy Doritos, Rick Astley, and the most awesome party you suckers will never be invited to.
